Orthodox Christians mark Dormition of Theotokos

 

The Patriarch of Moscow and All-Russia Kirill has served a liturgy of Dormition of the Theotokos, Interfax reports.

The dormition happened in 48 AD. Mother of the God, Mary lived for 15 years after the death of Christ, spending all time in prayers and fasting. Orthodox Christians will have two weeks of fasting.
