Yerevan will host the International Circus Festival in March 2015 to mark the 80th anniversary of clown Leonid Yengibarov, News Armenia cites Sosa Petrosyan, the Art Director of the Yerevan Circus.
A memorial of Yengibarov will be built.
A new circus building is under construction in Yerevan. The number of seats will increase from 1563 to 2050. Its dome height will increase from 16 to 21 meters.
The Yerevan Mayor’s Office and the Tashir Group signed a long-term cooperation deal in March 2011 to reconstruct and modernize the circus in Yerevan, build a hotel, the Dalma Garden Trade Center, modern recreation center at the Severny Avenue, recreation zones. The program will provide over 600 workplaces.
