Iran boycotts Oscar awards

The Iranian ministry of culture declared that the Islamic Republic intends to boycott the Academy “Oscar” Awards, Gazeta.ru cites Associated Press.

Tehran's move is in protest at the anti-Isdlam film “Innocence of Muslims.”

Therefore, Iran will not propose their movie in the category “The Best Foreign Movie.” Last year the Iranian film “Divorce of Nader and Simin” got an Oscar in this category.
