The Moscow State University of M.V. Lomonosov opened an education center in Baku on Wednesday. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, his wife, head of the university Victor Sadovnichiy, head of the university’s branch in Baku Nargiz Pashayev attended the opening.
The center consists of 7 buildings and four dormitories. The new library includes 20,000 books, including unique works. The electronic library has seats for 100 people. The room has over 21,000 books and access to the Azerbaijani National Library of M.F. Akhundzade.
Aliyev reminded that the Moscow State University opened its branch in Baku in 2008, calling it an essential step in improving bilateral friendly ties of Russia and Azerbaijan. He said that Azerbaijan needs young professionals and increased education expenses six-fold in the last 8 years.
Nargiz Pashayev said that 940 professors and teachers of the Moscow State University had arrived from Moscow in 4 years.
