No Entry for Men, Here without Me, and Mr. Yousef were the films that represented Iranian cinema at the competition of the 10th Chennai film festival, which kicked off on December 13.

Each of the participating Iranian films has been screened at numerous international festivals and received awards so far.

Directed by Rambod Javan, the romantic comedy No Entry for Men, also known as No Men Allowed, recounts the events which occur after a male teacher begins working at a girls' high school with a feminist principal.

Bahram Tavakkoli’s Here without Me is a contemporary Iranian adaptation of Tennessee Williams' Glass Menagerie that chronicles the story of a single mother working hard to find a match for her shy and lame-legged daughter, while her son dreams mostly of cinema and running away from family obligations.

Mr. Yousef ,directed by the stage and screen director Ali Rafiei as a family drama, depicts the life of a hard-working father who is worried about his daughter.
