EBU announces list of 2013 Eurovision participants

The European Broadcasting Union said that 39 countries will take part in the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest. Bosnia and Herzegovina, Portugal, Slovakia skipped the contest due to economic problems and Turkey due to combined voting.

Greece and Cyprus may have to skip it due to high default risk. Eurovision Executive Producer Jon Ola Sand expressed regret over their inability to participate.

Turkey considers automatic entrance to the finals of Germany, France, UK, Spain and Italy unfair.

Armenia did not take part in the Eurovision Song Contest held in Baku.

The 2013 Eurovision will be held in Malmö (Sweden). Lorin won the previous contest with her song Euphoria.
