The 31th edition of Iran’s Fajr International Theater Festival has announced names of the international troupes selected from among the submitted ensembles, Press TV reports.
Cho-In Theater Troupe from South Korea was named to present its performance Hotel Splendid, which depicts Japanese atrocities against Korean women during World War II.
The Hungarian troupe, Maladype Theatre, was also selected to perform the French writer Alfred Jarry’s grotesque and satirical farce King Ubu which is directed by Zoltan Balazs.
The Australian troupe Kropka Theater is set to stage Desdemona, a play adapted from Shakespeare’s classic tale Othello.
Several Italian theater troupes along with some other international ensembles are also scheduled to perform at the festival.
Some 106 performances from Iran and other countries are programmed to be presented at the year’s festival.
