The 31st edition of Iran’s most important film presentation and competition, Fajr International Film Festival, has kicked off in the Iranian capital city of Tehran, Press TV reports on Saturday.
This year’s festival began its programs during an opening ceremony held in Tehran’s Vahdat Hall on January 31.
Several veteran Iranian cineastes including Parviz Sheikh-Tadi and Nader Talebzadeh (filmmakers), Jamshid Mashayekhi and Jahangir Almasi (actors) and Mehri Shirazi (make-up designer) were honored with the Lifetime Achievement Awards during the ceremony.
The 2013 edition of the festival is hosting a number of Chinese films in a particular section titled ‘Panorama of Chinese Cinema’ as a part of the year’s programs.
