Today, in the capital of Abkhazia, Sukhumi, the House of Russian Book held a special event. Participants of the workshop for journalists met with the director of the Russian Book House Zaira Dzhonua and director of the national bookselling association "Abhazkniga" Manana Kvinitsiya.
TheHouse of Russian Book began to work on October 16, 2010. Its opening was a significant event in the cultural life of the Republic of Abkhazia. For many years after the end of the Georgian-Abkhazian war the library funds were not replenished and in the capital of Abkhazia there were only five bookstores. In Russian Book House today was filled with new editions.
The Moscow guests brought a gift of valuable new edition of the Moscow State University and the Russian State University for the Humanities. The participants expressed their satisfaction with the outcome of the meeting and the intention to strengthen cultural ties.
