Ministry of Culture to oversee preservation of ancient burial site in Derbent

Russian President Vladimir Putin has promised that the Ministry of Culture will oversee the preservation of a recently-found ancient burial site in the Dagestani town of Derbent.

"Derbent is one of the oldest cities in the Russian Federation and, in general, one of the oldest cities in the world. We will certainly look at it closely. The Ministry of Culture should be sure to pay attention to it," Vladimir Putin said today during a Q&A with the citizens of the Russian Federation.
