Belgium hosts Ossetian Cultural Festival

 

Belgium is hosting the Ossetian Cultural Festival within the framework of the Ossetian Cultural Festival in Europe, launched in the Netherlands on May 20, RIA Novosti reports.

The festival started with a round-table conference entitled South Ossetia. Five Years of International Recognition. Cooperation Bridges” to discuss the role of Ossetian culture in the world and prospects of cooperation of South Ossetia and Western Europe.

Vadim Tsalikov’s “Belgian Moscowites” film was demonstrated. 8 Ossetian artists, including two of them living in Belgium, presented paintings.

South Ossetian Foreign Minister David Sanakoyev noted that the festival was special and marked the 5th anniversary of its independence recognized by Russia.

The minister noted that the republic planned to make the festival annual with support of Renaissance Sandidzan.

Brussels will have a pavilion open on June 2 to present national literature, clothes, souvenirs, cuisine, DVDs with documentaries.
