The Russian State Theater of Nations has organized performances in Vladikavkaz, Grozny, Makhachkala, Nazran, Nalchik and Cherkessk, RIA Novosti reports.
The Moscow Art Theater will perform in Nalchik and Cherkessk, the Theater of Tabakov will present a play in Vladikavkaz. Notable Russian actors Avangard Leontyev, Constantine Raykin and Alexander Philippenko will perform.
Yevgeny Mironov, art director of the State Theater of Nations, said that a woman had approached him and said she had not been to a theater for 20 years.
Local actor groups of Pyatigorsk will makes performances as well. 13 best groups of Russian actors will compete for making a performance in Moscow.
The program includes plays presented by actors from the Rostov, Yaroslavl, Sverdlovsk, Samara, Kemerovo, Kaliningrad, Moscow Regions and the Krasnodar and Perm Territories, Adygeya and Udmurtia. Russian President Vladimir Putin granted 22 million rubles for the performance two months ago.
