Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov held today an expanded meeting with the heads of all law enforcement agencies in the region, and discussed with them the problems of drug abuse, car accidents and corruption.

During the meeting it was decided to establish a special commission on the prevention of drug abuse, which would be headed by Kadyrov himself. "Overall, the situation in Chechnya on all these issues is stable, but we need to preserve it and make it better," the head of the republic said, stressing that "a drunk driver behind the wheel is worse than a terrorist," ITAR-TASS reports.

The meeting was attended by the newly-appointed head of the FSB Department for Chechnya, Andrey Serezhnikov, the chairman of the Supreme Court of the Chechen Republic, Magomed Karataev, and the head of the investigation department of the Investigative Committee of Russia on Chechnya, Sergei Bobrov.

Statistics on road accidents in Chechnya are one of the lowest in Russia. This year, 58 people were victims of car accidents in the region, and another 191 were injured.
