Muslims have started marking Ramadan which will last until August 8. The Russian Council of Muftis says that the point of Ramadan is to become closer to the God and be obedient, doing good deeds, RIA Novosti reports.
Head of the Mufti Council Ravil Gaynutdin wished spiritual clarity and mercy. His deputy Rushan Abbyasov said that social, charity and educational events will be organized, such as Shatyor Ramadan on July 30, a hafiz contest on August 4.
