In the Dagestani town of Izberbash a new project of the National House of Folk Arts of the Regional Ministry of Culture is starting – the Republican National Song Festival "Songs of Dagestan."
The festival is organized to commemorate the 90th anniversary of the birth of Rasul Gamzatov, in order to promote the work of this great poet.
"The song culture of Dagestan counts over a thousand folk, lyrical and epic songs. These songs are heard not only in mass celebrations and festivities, but are also widely used in the repertoire of amateur groups," RIA Dagestan quotes a representative of the National House of Folk Arts.
