Israel holds Azerbaijani Festival

The Azerbaijan-Israel International Association (AzIs), Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the International Foundation of Mountain Jews organized the Azerbaijani Festival in Netanya (Israel).

Yegyan Salman, Director of the Azerbaijani Cultural Center and a member of the board of AzIs, talked about the formation of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic in 1918 and the role of Jews. He noted that Azerbaijan had expressed tolerance to its community of 20,000 Jews.

Boris Tsirulnik, a member of the Netanya municipal council and head of the Netanya Our Home Movement, praised the AzIs and its contribution to bilateral relations. Poet Bat Zion Abramova said that Azerbaijan had always lived in peace with Jews.

Singers Tomer Aliyev, Liora Safanova and Sabir Akhmedov performed at a special concert.
