Violinist Spivakov describes visit to North Caucasus

Vladimir Spivakov, a conductor and violinist, said that he had visited many cities of the North Caucasus for the first time in years. He visited Stavropol, Yessentuki, Nalchik, Grozny, Makhachkala.

He noted that the Caucasus had respect for the elderly, parents, elder brothers and sisters. Spivakov pointed out that people there were not prone to pride.

The maestro emphasized his visit to Grozny and was astonished with what he had seen there. Spivakov believes that he is the first person to invite Chechen performers to dance. He recalled that an 18-year-old man and his 4-year-old brother had come up to him and danced.
