The Azerbaijani branch of the Institute for Eurasian Studies marked the 120th anniversary of Vladimir Mayakovsky, a poet, playwright and artist, News Azerbaijan reports.
Mayakovsky’s voice record was played at the Moscow Room of the Baku Slav University and the Russian Center of the Baku State University. Pupils of grades 1, 6, 7, 9, 10 read his verses.
Professor Telman Jafarov, Director of the Lyceum School of the BSU, made a speech. Reports were made by I.M. Jarchiyeva and F.R. Muradova, docents of the Lyceum School. The meeting was organized by N.K. Kerimli, a teacher of the Russian language and literature of the Lyceum School.
Deputy Director of the Institute for Eurasian Studies Vagif Javanshirov and program coordinator Nezrin Shakirzadeh presented certificates to organizers of the evening yesterday.
