Shakhimardan Salikhov, deputy head of the Directorate for Preparation for the Anniversary, said that Dagestan will reconstruct historic facilities for the 2000th anniversary of Derbent, RIA Novosti reports.
Derbent will mark its 2000th anniversary in September 2015. The celebration program is costing 1.7 billion rubles, about 1.2 billion of which were granted from the federal budget.
Derbent will reconstruct the Naryn-Kala Citadel of the 6th century, ancient buildings, walls and a water reservoir of the 16th century. 300 million rubles in total will be spent on the reconstruction process.
