UNESCO has put Georgian kvevri wine-making in large earthenware vessels on the World Heritage list, said Georgian Minister for Cultural and Monument Protection Guram Odisharia, RIA Novosti reports.
The Georgian Cultural Heritage Agency calls the national wine-making technique unique and one of the world’s best technologies to make wine.
Georgia joined the UNESCO Convention on Non-Material Cultural Heritage Protection in 2007. The UNESCO Committee for Protection of Non-Material Cultural Heritage will hold its 8th session in Baku on December 2-7.
