International theatre festival opens in Tehran

The 32nd edition of Iran’s Fajr International Theatre Festival has opened in the country’s capital city of Tehran, Iran's state-run media outlet Press TV reports.

11 plays in the Scene section have been scheduled to go on the stages of the festival’s various halls on the opening day, January 18. Today the event is also to host six street performances.

Akbar Zanjanpour’s Uncle Vanya, Behzad Farahani’s Blood and Roses and Hamid Reza Naaimi’s Sophocles are among the lineup of the opening day.
