Chechen archaeologists to work at Alkhan-Kala settlement

The head of the center of archaeological research at the Academy of Sciences of the Chechen Republic, Hamid Mamaev, said that the Russian Humanitarian Science Foundation had provided a grant to researchers to conduct excavations at the Alkhan-Kala fortress.History students of the Chechen State University and archeologists from the Russian Academy of Sciences will also take part in the excavations.The Alkhan-Kala settlement is one of the largest monuments of the early Middle Ages.
