Russian Minister for Sports Vitaly Mutko met President of the Chinese Olympic Committee Lieu Peng at the opening of the House of China at the Sochi Olympic Games yesterday, RIA Novosti reports.
They discussed the bid of China to host the 2022 Winter Olympic Games in Zhangjiakou. Mutko encouraged China to host the Games, noting the well-organized 2008 Olympics in Beijing.
Oslo (Norway), Almaty (Kazakhstan) and Krakow (Poland) are the other candidates bidding to host the Games.
