Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has signed a decree on the appointment of Asif Abbas oglu Hajiyev as Rector of Baku Slavic University.
Asif Hajiyev was born on 3 April 1960 in Marneuli (Georgia). In 1977 he graduated from high school № 246 of Baku, and in 1982 he graduated with honors from the philological faculty of Baku State University, Trend reports.
Since 1986 he has been working in the BSU. In 1987 he defended his thesis, in 1998 - his doctoral dissertation. He is currently the Professor of Literary Theory at BSU . In May 2000, Asif Hajiyev was appointed Dean of Academic Affairs of BSU.
