Magomayev singing contest to be held in Moscow

The first international contest of Muslim Magomayev will be held in
Moscow for the first time on October 23-24 in the concert hall 'Crocus
City Hall', the widow of Magomayev, well-known singer Tamara
Sinyavskaya, told journalists.


The contest will consist of two stages: opera and Estrada singing.
Professional singers of 40 and above, with special musical education,
must present their opera and Estrada repertoire. The program of the
contest includes songs by Magomayev.


Tatyana Sinyavskaya said that the judges will not only consider the
singing but the artistic charisma as well. The judges are from all
over the world. Sinyavskaya will head the judges, she will be assisted
by singers Yelena Obraztsova and Tamara Gvertsiteli, maestro Yuri
Bashmet, composers Alexey Rybnikov and Michel Legran, as well as the
head of the the Conservatory of Baku Farhad Badalbeyli.

Rybnikov said that the main reason for his participation is to find
new singers for his songs.


The first prize is - $15 000, second - $10,000, third - $5,000.
The second stage of the contest will end at the gala concert - the
judges may perform as well.


The contest is held by the Fund of Cultural and Musical Heritage of
Muslim Magomayev.
