Mikhail Turetsky: The Caucasus is our everything!

"The Caucasus is our everything! This is Russia's jewel and a very big intersection of life, where the roots of different nations intertwine.  And people should be able to live together and create prestige for the country," People's Artist of Russia and artistic director of the ensemble 'Turetsky Choir', Mikhail Turetsky, says about the North Caucasus.

"Two years ago I toured in the North Caucasus, the route was: Makhachkala , Grozny, Nazran, Vladikavkaz and Nalchik. And recently I decided to repeat it, because back then we had wonderful festivals of songs and friendship between peoples. So on 28 June we begin touring with a special program, which we called "For You, the Caucasus!" We will give big concerts in Vladikavkaz and Pyatigorsk. In Magas a concert will be held right on the town square, outdoor, free admission. I have a friend and partner, Alikhan Kharsiev, who helps to organize a real holiday in Ingushetia. Then we will go to Nalchik, Pyatigorsk and Makhachkala," the head of the 'Turetsky Choir' comments on the upcoming tour.

According to him, he intends to arrange in the Caucasus a real holiday of love and friendship . "For us it's always a great joy, because the Caucasian peoples are energetic, they perceive it, they need it. The Caucasus needs the atmosphere  we create and friendly impulses. When, for example, we sing in the Ingush language near the famous Ingush towers,  it arouses passion and a special sense of delight in the listeners," Mikhail Turetsky said.

The People's Artist of Russia admitted that he really wants to go with concerts in Azerbaijan and Georgia. "Now we are looking for ways to seriously organize the tour. A collective like ours needs serious promotion, proper concert venues , preferably very large, because we always have a very large audience, like a Sports Palace or a Palace of the Republic. And we are very keen to visit the South Caucasus. Therefore, if someone hears my message , call us, invite us, we want to visit Baku and Tbilisi, we unite people," the musician suggests.
