Grozny held the “Lermontov, Russia, Caucasus: movement in time” international conference to mark the 200th anniversary of Lermontov. The conference was organized by the Chechen Republic, South Caucasus Academy of Innovative Technologies in Education and Science, the Pyatigorsk State Linguistic University, RIA Dagestan reports.
Dukuvakha Abdurakhmanov, the speaker of the Chechen parliament and the head of the organizing committee of the conference, greeted the people attending the meeting on behalf of Chechen Leader Ramzan Kadyrov.
A co-chair of the committee Maryam Vakhidova headed a plenary session of the conference. Chechen Deputy Minister for Press and Information Miyasat Muslimova made a report on the image of Lermontov in the poetry of Rasul Gamzatov.
Attendants of the conference visited place Lermontov had been to in Chechnya.
