The XXV anniversary meeting of the CIS Cultural Cooperation Council will take place in Moscow's Tretyakov Gallery on October 4, the press-service of the CIS Executive Committee reports. Some 20 questions of great international importance are scheduled for discussion.
The year 2011 had previously been declared Year of Historical and Cultural Heritage, while 2012 was earmarked as Year of Sport and Health at an unofficial CIS summit in May.
The “Cultural capitals of the Commonwealth” project, implying annual concentration of all efforts on restoration and promotion of one CIS city, will be presented to the Council.
The aspect of youth participation in archaeological and restoration activities is also on the agenda of the meeting. The Council will also discuss issues of international co-operation in the spheres of cultural and historical research and heritage conservation.
