Tonight the Cannes Film Festival, one of the key European film competitions, has summed up its results. French director Jacques was awarded the main prize – the Palm Branch for the film 'Dipan'. Owing to the work of Saul’s Son, the Grand Prix was awarded to Laszlo Nemes from Hungary.
The best director of the festival was recognized as Hou Xiaoxian from Taiwan, who presented the film ‘’KIller'' in Cannes. In the opinion of the jury, the best actor was recognized as Vincent Landon, who played in the film 'The Law of the Market'. The prize for best actress was awarded to two actresses: Rooney Mare Berko and Emmanuel ('Carol' and 'My King').
The Jury Award went to George Lantimosu from Greece, who represented the the film 'Lobster'. The best screenwriter was Michel Franco, whose work formed the basis of the ‘film 'Chronicles'.
The legendary Agnès Varda was awarded the Honor Palme Branch this year.
