ISIS units have not caused any harm to the necropolis of Palmyra, according to Maamun Abdel Kerim, the director of the Syrian Governmental Department of Antiquities and Museums, TASS reports.
ISIS captured Palmyra last week. The open-air museum of the UNESCO World Heritage list fell into the hands of the terrorists. The museum has unique ancient ruins, including Roman streets, the famous arc and columns, an amphitheater and Jupiter's Temple.
