Moscow International Music House to host 'Moscow meets friends' Festival


The Svetlanovsky Hall of the Moscow International Music House will host the 12th International Festival of Young Talents 'Moscow Meets Friends' organized by the Vladimir Spivakov Foundation, dedicated to the 70th Anniversary of the Great Victory and the Literature Year in Russia. Vladimir Spivakov, a conductor and violinist, art director and chief conductor of the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia and the State Camera Orchestra 'Virtuosos of Moscow', president of the Moscow International Music House, said that children from the Caucasus took part in every festival, notably for their dancing collectives. He pointed out a 10-year-old dancer named Timur from Chechnya.

 


In Spivakov's words, the festival creates a positive image of Russia. Moscow appears as a hospitable city with hearty people.The musician recalled that he had had amazing impressions from performances in the North Caucasus. He was well-received in Chechnya, hailed by the audiences of his performances. The conductor said that he had received the Friendship Order from Boris Yeltsin during the First Chechen War.
Young participants of the 70th Anniversary of the Victory prepared songs and melodies of war times. Over 700 performers from all regions of Russia and many foreign states filed bids to take part in the festival. The festival was initiated by Vladimir Spivakov's foundation, the Moscow government, the Moscow department of culture, the Russian Presidential Administration, the Foreign Ministry, the Culture Ministry, the UN, and the Russian Commission for UNESCO. The Organizing Committee of the festival consists of notable politicians, scientists, cultural and public figures.
