Film by Azerbaijani director to be demonstrated at Debashirfilm festival in Saint-Petersburg

The Azerbaijani film ‘Heritage’, awarded at the XXX VGIK International
Festival, has been invited to the XIII International Festival
‘Debashirfilm’ held in Saint-Petersburg on November 11-14. The
director of the film, Fariz Ahmedov, studies at VGIK (the All-Russian
State University of Cinematography) in Proshkin’s workshop, sent by
the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Azerbaijan. Esmira Eyub is the
creator of the screenplay.


‘Heritage’ is a film about a 9th-grader named Ali, who works at a salt
lake. The main character comes from Masazyr village. The film is about
the problem of the local inhabitants, who do not know what they will
do when they grow up. The reason is the salt lake, ‘the heritage’,
that passes from one generation to another.


The International Festival ‘Debashirfilm – Clear Dreams’ was started
in 1998 by actor and director Alexander Bashirov and cinema director
Alexander Burtsev. The festival is held annually in November.
