Protocol on establishment of Eurasian Association of Cable TV signed in Baku

A protocol on establishment of a Eurasian Association of Cable TV has
been signed in Baku, Vice-President of the Association of Cable TV
Russia Mikhail Silin told an international conference on Azerbaijani
television, Trend reports.


Establishment of the Eurasian Association of Cable TV will allow for
the building of a common information space. This will allow its
member-states to share their experiences in solving problems in the
sphere.


Silin said that it is important for all countries to have the
necessary legal basis for cable television.


The international conference, entitled ‘Development of cable
television in Azerbaijan: achievements and prospects’ is held in Baku
on Friday. Cable operators of Azerbaijan, Russia, Moldova, Ukraine,
Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan and Turkey signed a protocol on
establishment of the Eurasian Association of Cable TV.

The conference was organized by the National Council for TV
broadcasting (NCTB) and the Association of Cable Operators of
Azerbaijan (ACOA).


ACOA was founded by the companies of AG Telekom (founder of KATV1) and
SN Telekom (founder of SNTV), which provide cable TV services in
Azerbaijan.
