The press spokeswoman of the Georgian president, Manana Mandzhgaladze,
has talked about the country's sporting and cultural achievements in
2010, Georgia Online reports.
She said that the Georgian National Rugby Team, basketball players and
football players saw great victories.
Mandzhgaladze believes that the youth festival in 2015 will be an
important event.
The tragic death of Nodar Kumaritashvili is a big loss for the country
and Georgian sport, she said.
Mandzhgaladze noted that 2010 had many cultural events, starting with
a concert by Jose Carreras and ending with performances by Placido
Domingo. Jazz, theater and cinema festivals were held.
She says that 2011 will start with significant events. One the first
day of the year Georgia will be congratulated by the Italian tenor,
Andrea Bocelli.
Manana Mandzhgaladze congratulated the Georgian nation on New Year and
Christmas on behalf of the president.
