The Russian state corporation for nano-technologies and RusHydro have
signed a strategic cooperation deal. They plan to design and construct
facilities based on renewable energy sources.
The agreement is aimed at coordinating the development, production and
shipment of high-tech equipment for RusHydro.
RusHydro will provide the necessary conditions for a realization of
the science-technical potential of companies, established by Rosnano,
with the implementation of modern technologies and materials,
designing, construction and exploitation of electricity facilities.
Rosnano will participate in commercialization of RusHydro.
The sides will concentrate on constructing hydro electric plants and
facilities based on renewable energy, including geothermal and solar
power plants, wind generators. Rosnano and RusHydro will develop
energy storage technology, automatization of production. The sides
agreed on cooperation in standardization and certification of new
products and materials produced using nano-technology deputy head of
Rosnano Andrey Malyshev said.
The deputy head of RusHydro George Rizhinashvili said that cooperation
with Rosnano is an important step in the innovative development of
RusHydro, RIA Novosti reports.
RusHydro is the largest generating company in Russia. The company has
60 facilities using renewable energy. RusHydro produces 25.4GW of
energy, including Sayano-Shushenskaya Dam (6.4GW), which is currently
under restoration. RusHydro also has an office in Dagestan, which
controls 7 hydro electric plants and 4 small hydro plants producing a
total of 1381.9MW.
Rosnano is a state-owned corporation founded in 2007 to realize the
state policy in the nano-technology sphere.
