Tehran hopes that the meeting between experts from Iran and the
"Vienna Group" (Russia, USA, France, IAEA) for the exchange of
low-enriched Iranian uranium (3.5%) for enriched uranium (20%) will be
held soon, the permanent representative of Iran to the IAEA, Ali
Asghar Soltaniyeh, told a press conference in Moscow on Thursday.
The previous meeting of the representatives of Iran and the "Vienna
Group" took place in Vienna on the 19th of October 2009, RIA Novosti
reports.
In October 2009, the "Vienna Group" offered to Iran to conduct uranium
enrichment in Russia. In reply Iran demanded to conduct the exchange
on Iranian territory. The West has accused Tehran of inflexibility and
an unwillingness to resolve the nuclear issue, prompting the US to
initiate sanctions against Iran.
