The Geygel District of Azerbaijan has started the construction of an
Olympic complex, Trend reports, citing the local department of the
Ministry of Youth and Sports of Azerbaijan.
The Geygel District provided 6 hectares of land for the complex. The
first floor will have a canteen for 50 people, rooms for medics,
coaches and judges, a gym. The second floor will have rooms for
boxing, chess club, locker room, inventory room.
The complex will have a universal sports hall, swimming pool and a
wrestling hall.
A football stadium is also planned.
The Minister of Youth and Sports Azad Ragimov was at the foundation ceremony.
Azerbaijan has 28 Olympic facilities, 11 are under construction. 6
complexes will be launched in 2011.
