Three crossing points to be built on Russian-Abkhaz border

The Federal Agency for Development of the State Border is building 3
crossing points on the Russian-Abkhaz border, deputy head of the
agency Vladimir Goncharov said, RIA Novosti reports.

They are aviation, naval and land crossing points on River Psou
between Russia and Abkhazia, constructed within the framework of
preparations for the Olympic Games 2014 in Sochi.

The official did not clarify the expenses.

Russia recognized independence of South Ossetia and Abkhazia after the
Georgian attack on Tskhinvali in August 2008. Many South Ossetian
citizens received Russian citizenship.

The Russian government ordered the Federal Agency for Development of
the State Border to negotiate construction of the crossing points with
Abkhazia. The project involves establishment of a constant crossing
point Adler-Psou. Russia and South Ossetia legalized the state border
in 2010 by signing a document on passenger and freight crossing point
Nizhny Zaramag (Russia) - Ruk (South Ossetia).
