The state budget of Armenia will allocate 36.6 billion drams for 14 programs in the field of road construction in 2011, said today the Minister for Transport and Communication of Armenia, Manuk Vardanyan, Arka reports.
According to him, the program will be implemented in cooperation with the World Bank. As part of the Asian Development Bank program, 3.1 billion drams will be spent on the restoration of 33.5 km of roads in the rural area. Another 10.6 billion drams will be invested in the program of development of the transport corridor connecting the North and South, which is supported by the Asian Development Bank, and which provides construction of a road stretch 41 km long.
The remaining funds, the minister said, will be directed to the restoration of bridges, f transportation facilities and to cover costs of roads’ preservation.
