Costs of the construction of a railroad connecting Baku, Tbilisi and
Kars aimed at establishing rail links between Azerbaijan, Georgia and
Turkey, will be reviewed, Azerbaijani Transport Minister Ziya Mamedov
said today in Tbilisi, after talks as part of the project, AZE.az
reports
As previously noted by a source in Azerbaijani Railways, the
government of Azerbaijan is ready to provide an additional $ 500
million to finance the construction of the Georgian section of the
railway.
Azerbaijani Transport Minister Ziya Mammadov earlier said the total
completion of construction work is planned for the first half of 2012.
However, the parties are working to expedite the process and complete
most of the work before the end of 2011.
