There are no problems with the construction of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railroad, the minister of transport and communications of Turkey, Binali Jyldyrym, said, Trend reports.
Today in Tbilisi representatives of Georgia, Azerbaijan and Turkey met for a further discussion of the project. 53% of all work have been completed. Construction continues within the planned time-table. However, the cost of the project has increased.
The railroad is of national significance as it will be direct route from Europe to Asia. Azerbaijan plans to allocate 500 million dollars for the Georgian part of the railroad construction. The work is due to end in the second half of 2012.
