The trade turnover of the Southern and the North Caucasian Federal
Districts exceeded $27 billion last year, rising by 24.4% compared
with 2009, head of the Southern Customs Service Alexander Getman said.
He noted that the both exports and imports improved, with little
changes in the list of goods. Getman mentioned the ban on grain
exports, introduced in August due to droughts that destroyed a third
of the harvest.
Exports were equal to $13.1 billion last year, which exceeds the
indicators in 2009 by 11.1%.Specialists believe that this is related
to an increase in average prices for products. The SFD and the NCFD
export mineral products, food and agricultural raw materials.
Import indicators in 2010 reached approximately $14 billion, exceeding
the indicators in 2009 by 40%. Engineering, equipment and metals are
the main imported products.
The negative balance came to approximately 900 million rubles. The
federal budget of the Southern Customs Service received over 132
billion rubles, exceeding the indicators in 2009 by 36%.
