The alliance of manufacturers, importers and consumers of oil products
in Georgia - SOCAR Georgia Petroleum, a subsidiary of SOCAR (State Oil
Company of the Azerbaijani Republic), is the largest tax-payer in the
country, Trend cites a SOCAR statement as saying.
SOCAR Georgia Petroleum paid 150 million lari (the official currency
rate for January 27 is $1 - 1.8082 lari) to the state budget in 2010.
The company is considered the largest investor in the country, with
the best infrastructure of petrol stations and the largest contributor
to the charity.
SOCAR Georgia Petroleum invested 52 million lari in Georgian economy in 2010.
