Azerbaijan has started regular oil transport via the Odessa-Brody
pipeline through Ukraine to Belarus for the Mozyrsky oil refinery,
Trend reports.
Baku and Kiev earlier signed documents on transport of Azerbaijani oil
and gas to Ukraine.
A tanker with Azerbaijani oil has entered the port of Odessa and
unloaded the oil. The oil will be replaced via a swap agreement for
Venezuela oil. Approximately 4 million tons of oil will be pumped this
year.
SOCAR (State Oil Company of the Azerbaijani Republic) is interested in
transporting oil to Ukraine. The company opened a network of petrol
stations in Ukraine in January 2011. The network is planned to expand
in the nearest five years. SOCAR expects to have 500 petrol stations
in 5 years.
Ukraine and Belarus planned to use Odessa-Brody and Druzhba pipelines
for regular oil transport from the Black Sea port Yuzhny to Mozyrsky
oil refinery. The test pumping was carried out on November 24, 2010.
