Ukraine expects 2 billion cubic meters of Azerbaijani gas

Ukraine expects Azerbaijan to provide 2 billion cubic meters of gas by
2014 and hopes for 5 billion cubic meters in 2015 annually, head of
the working group 'National Projects' of the economic reforms
committee, Vladislav Kaskiv, said, RIA Novosti reports.

Ukraine and Azerbaijan signed a memorandum on cooperation in
compressed gas transport through the territory of Ukraine on January
28.

Kaskiv added that they plan to increase supplies of compressed gas to
7 billion cubic meters annually in 2017. The official emphasized that
Ukraine is also considering other gas sources.

He said that they plan to complete the feasibility study of the
terminal before June this year. Kaskiv added that Ukraine is searching
for an investor.

Ukraine plans to construct a terminal on the Black Sea coast for
reception of compressed gas. The Ukrainian authorities believe that
this will allow diversifying gas supplies and cutting costs. The
terminal will have a capacity of 10 billion cubic meters annually and
will be worth $2.5 billion.
