Armenian prices rise by 2.8% in January

The inflation rate in Armenia has risen by 2.8%, compared with
December, News Armenia cites the National Statistics Service of
Armenia.


The prices for food (including alcohol and tobacco products) increased
by 4.9%, non-food products — by 0.5%. The prices for services dropped
by 0.2%.


The consumer price index reached 110.6% in January 2011, compared with
January 2010. The prices food products rose by 17.1% in the period
from January 2010 to January 2011, non-food products — by 5.2%,
services — 4.6%.


Consumer prices in Armenian cities increased by 2.4-3.5%, compared
with December 2010. The highest rise of consumer prices was registered
in Ekhegnadzor and Kapan. The consumer prices in the period rose by
2.8%.


Armenian inflation is planned at 4% (±1,5%) in 2010.
