Armenia had about 80 thousand unemployed by the end of 2010. They represent 6.9% of the economically active population, said the head of the State Employment Service of the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, Sona Arutyunyan, News.Am reports.
At the end of 2009 the number of unemployed amounted to 80 thousand people and constituted 7.5% of the economically active population. However, Armenia has not yet returned to pre-crisis indicators with about 75 thousand unemployed.
The last study in this regard was held in 2009. Polls have shown that real unemployment stands at 27.5%. people who did not have job at least for 4 weeks before the survey and were looking for work were considered to be unemployed.
