The Azerbaijani National Confederation of Businessmen proposes the
adoption of tax benefits, including in the tourism sphere, the head of
the confederation Mamed Musayev said at a press-conference at the Yeni
Azerbaycan Party headquarters, Trend reports.
The press-conference was related to the results of the confederation's
activities in 2010 and plans for 2011.
Musayev clarified that they propose tax exemption when purchasing
equipment abroad. The government adopted tax benefits for agriculture
business. The main goal is reduction of business expenses.
The confederation plans to activate its work, since 2011 is the Year
of Tourism. Tourist companies and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism
will soon have a session to discuss support of the sector and
improvement of competitive abilities.
Musayev said that they plan talks on amendments for the Tax Code. They
want to reduce the up-limit of the tax for income of individuals. The
current rate is 30%. They want reduction of the limit to be switched from
2,000 to 3,000 manats. The VAT is also planned to be reduced for
businessmen.
