The managing director of the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC),
Javad Oji, has announced an agreement on the route of a new gas
pipeline that will pass through Iran and Syria for transportation of
Iranian gas to Europe, Rusenergy reports.
The agreement on a new route for deliveries of Iranian gas to Europe
was reached last week during the visit of the Iranian oil minister to
Syria.
According to the agreement, oil will be transported via the new gas
pipeline to Iran, Iraq and Syria to provide fuel for local power
plants, and will then reach the Mediterranean Sea and Europe through
southern Lebanon.
