Iran plans to launch production of fibreglass

The deputy head of the Organization for Development and Modernization
of Industry of Iran, Gholam Reza Keramatifard, has said that in the
near future Iran will build the country's first production line of
fibreglass using domestic technologies, Iran.ru reports.

At present Iran annually consumes 35-40 tones of glass fibre. In this
case, all products are imported from abroad, and construction of
production lines of fiberglass using domestic technology will very
soon allow Iran to stop importing it.

According to Keramatifarda, the fibreglass is used in manufacturing
composite pipes, products made of fibreglass, as well as in enhancing
buildings and other structures.
